Story Playlist

Use the Story Playlists module to create and manage story playlists and control the order of available stories for output.  This module enables you to order your stories for broadcast from any story topic.

From the Stories page, select the Playlists tab.

Creating a New Playlist

Assuming you already have stories available the next step to get started is to create a new playlist to work with.

1. First confirm you are working in the desired content group.
2. Click on the playlist drop-down 
3. Type in the name of your new playlist
4. Press the enter key
5. Your new playlist is created and ready for stories.

Adding Stories to a Playlist

You can add stories to a playlist use one of 2 methods:

1. Double-click on a story in the list of available stories on the left hand side.
   • This is add the story to the end of the playlist
2. Drag-n-drop the story from the story to the playlist dropping it where you want it to appear in the playlist

Changing Story Playlist Order

You can easily change the play order of the stories in the playlist by simply dragging and dropping stories within the playlist.

Rename a Playlist

You can rename an existing playlist with a few simple steps:

1. Select the playlist from the drop-down list
2. Click the Rename button in the playlist header to the right of the drop-down list
   
   
3. Type the new name in the text box
4. Click the Save button.
   
   

Removing a Story from the Playlist

To remove an individual story from the playlist

• Click on the removal icon beside it (a red x)
• - OR -
• Double-click on the story in the playlist
• - OR -
• Drag the story out of the playlist back onto the list of available stories on the the left.

Remove All Stories

You can easily remove all stories from an existing playlist using the Remove All button in the playlist header.

Delete a Playlist

You can delete a playlist by:

1. Selecting the playlist from the drop-down list
2. Click the Delete button
3. Press the OK button to confirm.

Customizing the Story Display

The display of the stories in the playlist can be customized to suit your requirements by having a System Admin set the appropriate preferences in the System Configuration module.

Max Dynamic Fields

Story > Playlist Max Dynamic Fields:The maximum number of dynamic fields to show in the story playlist module. Set to 0 (zero) to show all. ()

Show Dynamic Fields

 Story > Playlist Shows Dynamic Fields: When true the dynamic fields are enabled to show in the story playlist module.

Max Lines

Story > Playlist Max Lines: The maximum number of lines to show from a story in the playlist (including header). This keeps the playlist items more compact for easy management.
