There are a number of configurable options for weather that are essential in processing the weather from automated sources and they are found in the Weather Configuration module.Â
Weather Icons
The first configurable section is the weather icons that you will use to display the weather descriptions in your broadcast output. This is essentially a list of the graphics available for your use. You can re-use the same graphic for multiple descriptions if appropriate.
To add a new icon enter a short description as the type and the name of the related media file. It can be just the filename with extension or it can include a sub-folder path if desired.
Note:Â Chameleon looks for video icons first, followed by static icons. If no icons are found in the Video folder, it will look in the Images folder.
The default location for the video icons are \\projectname\video
The default location for the static icons are \\projectname\images
You can add a sub-folder path if you desire to maintain an organized workflow by adding the FolderName\ prior to the file name.
You can also assign a Icon Set name to group sets of icons together.
NOTE: Our existing weather reader apps will install default configuration records so you don't have to (unless you need to customize it further).

Weather Codes
In this section you link the name and code from your data source with the appropriate weather icon from the list of icons you are using and previously setup in the Weather Icons section.
More then one import code may be matched to a weather icon if appropriate.
This section is only useful if you are using an automated data source to provide your weather forecasts. This section is unnecessary if all forecasts are manually entered.
Here you may also select your default source and default icon set if you have multiple in your setup.
NOTE: Our existing weather reader apps will install default configuration records so you don't have to (unless you need to customize it further).
Forecast Detail Types
You make changes to the list of forecast types here to change both
forecast types available in Flow
remove forecast types you aren't using (to avoid having it warn you of old data that you don't need anyway)
forecast types processed by an agent reading your automated data source
Note that some of these types may not be supported by your automatic weather data source. Only change if necessary.
