High Level

Use the Update Party Seats module

This module shows you the number of seats each party won. The number in the elected column should match the number of seats and they should sum to the total number of available seats as they do in the sample below:

If you see any errors you can correct them and then press the Update Party Seats button at the bottom of the party list.

NOTE: If the number of elected is wrong - then you may have to fix the riding level data to elect the correct candidates.

Security note: You have to have the Edit Content privilege (Elections Admin or System Admin) to access this module.

Use the Race Overview module

Security note: This module is available to view by all users unlike the Update Party Seats module above.

Seats Graphs

Make sure the correct number of seats display in the Parliamentary Makeup graph on the left and in the Seats graph on the right. If the totals are wrong then an admin user can correct them in the Update Party Seats module. It will also be necessary to review at a Riding level as well.

Votes Graph

Select the Vote% graph on the right hand side and confirm the total vote counts match official totals. If the totals are not correct then you need to check at a lower level of detail to correct the number of votes assigned to each candidate.

Riding Level

A: Use the Riding Summary module

This module shows you for all ridings which party had the lead and which candidate was declared elected. This might be the easiest way to quickly compare the winning party in each riding.

  • Compare the elected candidate and party for each riding to the official results. If you find an error an admin user can correct the candidate votes and elect the correct candidate using the Update Votes module.

  • If you see a riding without an elected candidate (the E icon will be grey instead of yellow) then and admin user will need to confirm the votes and declared a candidate elected using the Update Votes module.

  • You can also view the individual candidate votes by clicking the name of the riding. A popup will open showing the details.

Security note: This module is available to all users but some parts of it are limited to users with additional privileges such as declaring a candidate elected by clicking the E icon. Any user could view the results here and report any corrections required to an admin user to make the changes.

Example of the riding details popup when clicking on the riding name:

B: Use the Update Votes module

This module allows an admin user to view the candidate votes and elected candidate one riding at a time. If any changes are required they can be made immediately. Save the changes with the Update Now button. If you see a riding has "no candidate declared" then you need to set the correct number of votes for each candidate and select the winning party/candidate. Save changes with the Update Now button.

Security note: You have to have the Edit Content privilege (Elections Admin or System Admin) to access this module.

C: Use the Riding Detail module

This module allows to view the detailed candidate level results of each riding - one riding at a time. Check the number of votes received by each candidate and which candidate was declared elected. If you find an error an admin user can correct the candidate votes and elect the correct candidate using the Update Votes module.

Security note: This module is available to all users. Only an admin is enabled to change the elected candidate here. Any user could view the results here and report any corrections required to an admin user to make the changes.
