Related System Preferences
See Story System Preferences. These system preferences can be set by a System Administrator type user to configure the way stories are used.
Auto Expiry Time
The default time before the story expires after it is created. This will be the time they stop playing out in the ST player though they will remain as content. Set to 0 to not have an auto expiry when adding stories.
Before version 7.7.5.3 it was: Auto Expiry Hours (The number of default hours before the story expires.)
Absolute Expiry Time
Indicates if the auto/default expiry time is an absolute time from the beginning of the day when the story was created or a relative time added on to the time of creation.
(Added in version 7.7.5.3)
Default Position for Manual Stories
Enter 'First' or 'Last' as the default position for new stories when entered manually.
Enable Air by Default
True indicates that the story editor defaults to enabling a story to air for new stories when entered manually.
Enable Images
True indicates that the story editor allows images to be used with stories. Requires Media Bin to be enabled.
Enable Repeat
True indicates that the story editor allows a repeat count to be used when showing stories on-air.
Header Box Edit Lines
Specify a number of lines of text to display in the editing text box for story headers. The default was only 1.
Header Maximum Length
Set the maximum number of characters that can be entered into the header text. Set this to 0 to have no limit. The default was 255.
Header Warning Length
When a story header reaches this length display a visual cue to the user. The red background on the character count is used to warn when the recommended length has been exceeded.
Summary Base Height
The approximate number of lines a story record shows of the summary/header when collapsed.
Default: 1
Text Base Height
The approximate number of lines a story record shows of the main body text when collapsed.
Default: 2
Warning Length (body)
When a story body reaches this length display a visual cue to the user. The red background on the character count is used to warn when the recommended length has been exceeded.
Require Body
True indicates that the story editor requires a main body text to be entered.
Short Story Length
The max length to use when displaying the short version of a story. For example in the "Comes After" drop-down-list when adding stories.
Story Removal
The number of hours past the Stories Expiry time that story records are removed from the database. This value ensures all time zones can show a story record before it is removed.
