Basic output control options are available throughout the Elector Player interface. The Elector Player always clears the broadcast output before showing selected graphics.

Whether the existing graphics animate or fade off is based on the Elector Player preferences set at the time of broadcast.

Basic Output Controls

Take

 

Clears the current broadcast output and takes the selected graphics to air.

You may also have the option to Take All when multiple graphic components can be output at once.

Clear

Clears the output being broadcast.

You may also have the option to Clear All when multiple graphic components can be output at once.

Show Preview

Takes the selected graphics to a preview output when available.

You may also have the option to Show Preview All when multiple graphic components can be previewed at once.

Refresh Scene Data

Updates the broadcast output on the fly without clearing the current output.

Clear All Output

Clears all output on all framebuffers and all layers.

Clears individual scenes, playlists, and Party Totals scenes simultaneously.

Tip:

Many output control options include a corresponding shortcut key sequence that allows you to use the keyboard in addition to the mouse.

The shortcut key sequence is displayed with the control option.

Or, you can hover over the output option to review shortcut key details.

The Elector Player provides the following ways to display graphics:

All available scenes in the XPression project file are available in the Elector Player.

Select a scene to show using your mouse.

Or, select a scene using the selection options.

Control scene output using your mouse or the available keyboard shortcut keys.

Note: You can only output a single scene at a time.

Show a playlist

Playlists are collections of scenes from the XPression graphics project, and playlists are assembled and managed in FlowYou can have up to four (4) playlist tabs showing set up with different playlists and scenes.

  1. For each playlist tab, select a Playlist ID from the list or start typing to find a playlist using the type-ahead feature.
  2. Click Play List to output the selected playlist to air. 

    The clear options and their available keyboard shortcut keys can be used to clear broadcast output.

    • control how often the playlist automatically refreshes, in seconds
    • control how often the playlist displays each scene, in seconds
    • control whether the player loops through the playlist scenes or stops when it reaches the last scene in the playlist

Note: You can only output a single playlist at a time.

Show lower third name keys

Use the L3:Name Keys tab to select and output specific lower third name keys.

  1. Select the Scene desired from the list.
  2. Specify the candidate as follows:
    1. Select a candidate from the list. Click Add to List to add the candidate to the quick-select table.
    2. Start typing the name of the candidate using the Lookup type-ahead option. Click Add to List to add the candidate to the quick-select list.
    3. Specify a candidate in the quick-select list by row number. Enter a Row Number and click Select Row.
  3. Control output using the output control options.

  4. When you select a different candidate, click Refresh Scene Data to output the latest candidate data.
Show Ticker Stories

Use the Tickers tab to select and output tickers, including bugs, lower third backgrounds, party total chips, breaking news crawls, ticker crawls, riding info scenes, countdown timers, and bug widgets, as available.

  1. Select the Scene for the kind of ticker desired.
  2. Show or hide the thumbnail as needed.
  3. Manage ticker options and settings, as available.
  4. Control output using the output control options. Output control options include individual and group options.
  5. If you update scene data, click Refresh Scene Data to output the latest data.

Show Scene Backgrounds

Use the Fullframe Scenes tab > Scene Background section to select and output specific scene backgrounds.

  1. Select the Scene background desired from the list.
  2. Choose to automatically show the background when showing fullscreen scenes.
  3. Control output using the output control options.

Show Single Scenes

Use the Fullframe Scenes tab > Single Scenes section to select and output a specific scene, such as a breaking news story, a candidate board, a party gain and loss, or any other number of scenes.

  1. Select the Scene desired from the list.
  2. Select a Background. You can view a background thumbnail if desired.
  3. For scenes that include manual text entry, such as a name key, use the Caption Info tab to enter text to show with the scene.
  4. For scenes that include data entry, such as a candidate board, use the Riding/Candidates Info tab, the (...) buttons, and the selection options to select data to show with the scene.
  5. Control output using the output control options.
  6. When you update the data, click Refresh Scene Data to output the latest data.
Show Boxes

Use the Fullframe Scenes tab > Boxes section to show punch-through box scenes, when available.

  1. Select the Scene desired from the list.
  2. Enter caption text.
  3. Control output using the output control options.
  4. When you update the data, click Refresh Scene Data to output the latest data.
