Manage Existing Parties

Elector may come pre-installed with federal or provincial party information.  You access the Party details from the Home page, select Content Management and then Manage Parties.

In the Current Parties list, click Edit pencil button to modify a party.

You can change:

  • a party's Abbreviation in both English and French

  • a party's Display Name in both English and French, 

  • indicate whether that party is of interest and included for display on air

  • specify the party's zero vote order that controls how they display on air before any votes are available

  • party icons used for display in Flow

  • party colors used for display in Flow

The Data Feed ID values are only modified by administrators because they are used by the automation software.

Click Save Changes Now to save your changes.

Add Parties

If there are any missing parties you can add them to Elector.

Simply click the Add New Party button in the header of the party table and fill in the details of the new party in the popup form.

Note that If you do not have a party logo to upload for a new party you can have Flow generate one as noted in the next section.

Generate Default Icons

The icons of non-main parties may not all be available. However you can choose to have Flow generate basic party logos for you.

Any party that does not already have a logo available for display in Flow will be highlighted by warning icon (yellow exclamation mark) as seen below.

To generate the missing icons - simply press the Generate Missing Icons button.
