In Blade, get URL.
Draw region in IC
Double-click on a region or select Items
Select editor and click Add.
Add fields, if the region allows it. Otherwise, select Show Tags option.
Select External Data Source and click Setup.
- If using external editors, such as TitleMotion, can’t do the external connection part in TM, must be done after setting up components in TM in IC
In the Data Source Wizard, select the Create new RSS/XML data source option.
Click Next.
For the URL/XML File Path, paste in the BLADE URL.
For the Data Source Name, enter a unique data source identifier.
Click Next.
No authentication is required. Click Commit.
Expand the tree, select Description (tweet text). And click Next.
Next dialog sets up the data types – no changes needed for TO. Next
Assign which column goes to which text field in IC.
Set the frequency of checking for updates using the Data Play Back option (set to 30sec or more; don’t make this too frequent).
Finish.
Can add more fields
Avatars can be added like Tweet text, just a different tree segment (should cover this), assuming that that data is available in TO
For each field that you want to connect to an external source, such as TO content:
To connect Tweets to InfoCaster, you need to establish a data source through the ODBC Wizard.
Using the Title Quick Editor, select the External Data Source option. Click Setup and select Create new RSS/XML source as shown below:
The Data Source Wizard will now present the entire XML tree.
Work down through the tree to the first entry “Tweet” and select an item such as ‘Text’ or ‘AvatarURL’. As you select elements from the tree they should appear in the grid at the bottom.
