Preferences / Configuration Keys

An administrator can set a number of Flow configuration preferences that affect the interface and user experience.

From the Home page, select System Tools > System Configuration

  1. In the Preferences section, select a configuration key from the list.

  2. Assign that configuration key a different value than the default value as defined in the following table.

  3. Click the Update Now button.

  4. - or - use the Reset to Default button to use the default value

Errors > Auto Submit Errors Online

Allow errors generated by the system to be sent automatically to the support system for evaluation.

Top Level Region Name

Used by the Chameleon formatted election output. Names the highest level of the election hierarchy. Example: Canada or Alberta

Auto-Refresh: Riding Results Summary

The number of seconds waited before refreshing the Riding Results Summary page.

Auto-Refresh: Interesting Events Widget

The number of seconds waited before refreshing the Interesting Events widget.

Auto-Refresh: Overall Race Module

Sets how often the Election Day Race Status graph is refreshed (in seconds).

Default: 60 seconds

Auto-Refresh: Riding Preview Module Overall Graphs

Sets how often the Election Day Seat Count and Vote Percentage graphs are refreshed (in seconds) in both the Race Status and the Election Status modules.

Default: 60 seconds

Auto-Refresh: Riding Preview Module

Sets how often the data in the Riding Results Detail module is refreshed (in minutes) on Election Day.

When this configuration key and the Riding National Refresh key (above) are set to the same value, all data in the Election Status module refreshes together in synchronization.

Default: 2 minutes

Auto-Refresh: Interesting Events Module

Determines the refresh rate of the Interesting Events module in seconds.

Default: 120 seconds

Enable Riding Data Source Control

On Election Day, you can mix automated data with manually entered content to provide a rich election experience for your viewers.

Specifies whether Flow users can toggle between automatic and manual Election Day party standings data updates.

  • When true: Users can enable Flow to accept manual data updates for party standings.

  • When false: Flow and all ridings are set to automated data updates only for party standings.

Default: false

System > Max Display Length of Audit Messages

If audit messages exceed this value they will be truncated to fit for display in Flow Audit Reports. The full details are still available when exported.

Default: 255 characters
