System Administrator users can import a list of areas from a file in CSV format. You need to use the correct field names for the import process to create an new areas it finds in the file. Existing areas are not changed.

Cannot be blank.

This is the name of the area/district/riding/county.

Short Name

Optional.

A shorter version of the name. Example: use MA for Massachusetts.

Area Code

Optional - unless used as the identifier when importing

This is a string of characters or numbers.

Examples include: riding numbers, FIPS codes, etc.

We have a number of data sets available for you to download and use to import that are already using the correct format. If you are creating your own CSV file to import these may be helpful as a sample to confirm file formatting.
